Saccharomyces cerevisiae var boulardii is a strain of Sacchromyces cerevisiae, and commonly referred it as Sacchromyces boulardii. It is a type of beneficial yeast that has long been a part of nutrition and health through use in bread, wine, and yogurt. Saccharomyces boulardii have been clinically proven to prevent antibiotic-caused diarrhea. Now as a probiotic, our strain supports the function of the gastrointestinal tract, where it can aggressively displace problematic yeast species, increase levels of antibodies, support the establishment of friendly bacteria, and help to restore nutrient absorption capacity to the small intestinal mucosa. This yeast strain is resistant to gastric acidity and proteolysis; it does not get absorbed, but continues to move through the intestines until secreted.
